I like the direction Jims95 was heading; taking the belt off for a minute is also a good idea. My first thought is a cracked torque converter flex plate, or something in the converter itself.

This has happened to my 2000 D2 a few times, and every time the problem was (unless it was a coincidence) low battery voltage. Doesn't really seem to make sense, but a new set of brushes (with the regulator assembly) fixed it each time. Fixed the two green flashing transmission lights, too.

My version of RAVE (6th edition) says they're the same. I'm looking for a less agressive profile, for more low-end torque. That's why I chose the 50227.

So, is there an adapter sleeve on the front end of the cam? I haven't pulled the old one out yet; maybe it's not as bad as I think.

Was this ever resolved? I'm getting the same 4 codes: 171 & 174 intermittent; 172 & 175 steady. I've replaced the MAF, all 4 O2 sensors and the injector seals. Maybe I should have checked the lower manifol bolts while I had the upper one off.

I just replaced both front O2 sensors and cleared the codes. The SES light is still on, even though there are no codes stored. I unhooked the battery for about 15 minutes, then got a code for interrupted power supply. I cleared that one, and now there are none, but the light is still on...

CRC makes an electronic cleaner. It' called QD, for quick-drying. It evaporates without a trace.

Mine was doing that a couple of months ago. Cleaning the MAF sensor fixed it.
