1st full day of ownership and it wont start now

Three weeks ago, I installed a new high torque gear reduction stater from British Starters. It starts up much quicker than the original design. It is a little smaller than the original starter, so installation is easier. I am very happy with it. http://britishstarters.com/Home.html It was...

D1 eating fuel pumps - what's the cause?

Fuel injection relays are very prone to wear, in comparison to the inertia switch. These are both in the same circuit, too.

'95 D1 3.9L. Engine dies, cools down, runs, dies....

Have you ever changed the fuel injection relays, in the right front kick panel? Your truck is 22 years old. My 1995 RRC had these symptoms and a Land Rover mechanic I know, told me to replace them. Afterwards there was no more stumble-intermittent surging.

Has anyone rebuilt an LT230 transfer case?

I have used the following as an equivalent to Hylomar; Permatex PermaShield™ Fuel Resistant Gasket Dressing & Flange Sealant P.S. If you compare the Technical Data Sheets for both products, you will see the characteristics and material color are the same.

Radius arm poly bushings - no free lunch?

I have had my 1995 RRC since 1997. Over the years, I have installed 2 sets of Polybush, and a few years ago I installed SuperPro. The SuperPro bushings, I sourced from Rovers North, as they were the only source in the USA at the time. SuperPro supplies polyuerethane grease in the kit to use...

Crank But No Start, 95 Classic

Also, behind the battery is a rectangular covered fuse panel. There is a fuse in there for the fuel injection. If this fuse is gone, the fuel injection will not work.

Crank But No Start, 95 Classic

On your picture, it shows the two (2) inline resistors. Disconnect each one and test for continuity. If there is no continuity, there will be no spark signal to the ECU. I was able to find replacement resistors from Rovers North. Do not run without these resistors, as these are protection...

    You Gotta See This!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP06gvFWW64 I just wish my 1995 RRC was this great!

non-stock spare fitment - any tricks?

I have 245/75/16 in my RRC. I had to dimple the floor with a ball peen hammer to get the vertical space. I still had to raise the seat belt anchor to clear the taller tire. I resealed the floor at the seams afterward. I trimmed the spare tire cutout on the left side cover for the wider tire...

back into the fold: old Rangie, new (to me) problems

On my 1995 RRC, one of the seat switches malfunctioned (seat would not go back but would go forward). The seat switch had dirt inside on the contacts. Took the seat switch out and cleaned/flushed the inside with WD40. I watched the dirt drain out. I did not disassemble it. The seat switch...

    Pertronix help, again

Still out of ideas? One of the two fuel injection relays, powers up the fuel pump. The other powers up the ECU. The RAVE manual schematics do show both of the fuel injection relays, and what circuits each one powers up. I think you are fooling yourself by saying that you do not have any drop...

    Pertronix help, again

What distributor Part Number did you purchase (Ignitor, Ignitor II, or Ignitor III)? What coil Part Number did you purchase? Did you match the coil to the distributor, as shown on the Pertronix catalog on Page 51? It does make a big difference. I have an Ignitor II, and I installed the...

Fuel pump priming sequence ,95 D1

Have the 2 fuel pump relays ever been replaced? If they are older relays, the mechanism inside could be worn out, the points could be pitted, and overall they are slow to actuate. Find the relays in the right kick panel. Turn the key to "on", they should "click on" immediately, and you should...
