Have you looked at the pinion bearing? I just developed that in my '95, put it on jack stands and turned the front shaft to confirm the noise is from the pinion. It was leaking a bit a grease so not surprising.

I'd clear them again and see what comes back. If you keep getting O2 errors the part should have a 1yr warranty if they are Bosch sensors. I had repeat O2 errors on my '04 at 90K miles. After replacing multiple sensors they were still there. Finally pulled the injectors and had them cleaned...

You can easily pull it and gut the cylinder or take the cylinder to a locksmith and have them gut it for you, no one will know but you. I had the same problem, pulled it and took it to a locksmith since a pin needed to be drilled out to pull the internals.
