Wow. I haven't been on this site in a while and I come back to find that everyone came out of the closet. Is this now Homoweb.org or Discohomo.org. Is there a straigt site that someone can direct me to?
So, if finally decided to rain in CA and the D1 finally started to leak water. I searched all of the sunroof threads but no luck so far. Here's the situation:
-Headliner Dry
-Very rear corner, drivers side cargo area leak only
-Water running down the wiring and the plastic vent duct from top...
Thanks for the suggestions. My pads squeal pretty bad so I want to replace then anywas, even though they are in good shape.
I don't think there is any play in the wheels but I'll check again.
Yes, I thought it was the lugs at first. I'll take another look at them.
96 D1, 130k miles
The front end has developed a metalic rattle that sounds like all of the lug nuts are loose (yes, I'm embarassed to say i know what that sounds like) only more intense. I usually notice the noise over small high frequency bumps rather than large hits.
Any suggestions as to...
THanks Rick. I'll work on my search skills.
It's funny - I've heard the waterfall after heavy rains so I assummed water was getting in somewhere. It's a good thing there are so many other dweb visitors that have the same strange problems.
Waterfall noise...that is a much better description. And yes, under the dash on the right is about as close as I've been able to pinpoint the noise. I was guessing it had to come from up above, but evertime I heard it, it seemed like a river was running under the shifter up to the dash toward...
Thanks Chris. Please post the TSB if you can. I was worried it may have had something to do with the sunroofs. I know that the window seals on the sides and back door need replaced but when I checked the alpine windows a while ago they looked okay. I never heard the noise in prior years so I...
The rains finally arrived in California and something interesting happened. About a week ago I got in my '96 D1 and started driving. The first time I braked hard, I heard a strange sound so I turned the radio off and braked hard again. Well, all of a sudden I heard the sound of water rushing...
Thanks for all of the input. I finally went out and listened for the cats making noise and tapped with a mallet. Nothing. No rattling at all. I felt the exhaust and it felt like a good amount of pressure even though I don't know what to compare it with. I've even been driving it everywhere...
'96 D1 120k miles. I haven't been driving my Disco very often because I use my other car to commute and my wife has filled it up with her work stuff. Recently my father-in-law who is a mechanic drove it and noticed there wasn't much power and said it was because my cats are bad (just like...
Ok, so I am a moron. At least you learn by making stupid mistakes.
I was able to pull out the axle enough to put on the washer and circlip. It took a little effort on the side that I did first so maybe that is why I didn't think it was possible. Luckily, last night I looked at the other side...
David,
I'm pretty sure that the rotor is seated correctly. That was where I expected the problem to be so I spent a lot of time checking to see if it was correct. I could still be wrong there but I don't think so.
I do remember the axles moving a little but I don't recall if I tried to make...
Hi Everyone,
Just put on new aftermarket rotors and pads from Atlantic British on the front of my '96 D1. I've done the back before and fronts on other vehicles so I felt pretty confident that I did everything right. However, after I bolted on the driving member (? - cap with 5 bolts) there...
I just encountered the same problem. My remote doesn't work anymore so I use the keys to unlock. When I unlock from the drivers side all doors open except the drivers. I lock it again and then unlock. This time it will open but the alarm goes off. So I lock it again and then unlock and this...
