How to tell if LR3 has HD package

In the cutaway pics of the diffs I see no retaining straps and no provision for diff adjustment. Is it a non-adjustable setup? Also, I see absolutely no reason that one could not put a detroit locker, or true track in place of the open (non-hd) diff, and no reason doing so would harm TR/TC...

HELP! failed hill climb results in problematic shifter

(ignoring the shit talking) This thread makes me appreciate all I have learned at this site. I was recently on a long hillclimb and broke a torque side tranny mount. when the tranny lurched it caused the truck to shift. Also, as it rotated up and contacted the body it made an auful vibration...

    master cylinder leak????

What did you end up doing? I have the same issue and am concerned about igniting the brake fluid. Does the whole unit need replaced or can one put new seals between the reservoir and inlet onthe master?

    ETC vs. Lockers

Everyone knows that Mo is our friend. I used to find that four beers could get me up almost anything. Now that I don't drink, I make it up less obstacles, but have less damage to my rover, and am generally smarter and happier. PM-I'll try braking as hard as I can in the same spot when the...

    ETC vs. Lockers

My maiden voyage with the TT was up the Boony Bouncers' signal peak trail off of the fordyce trail. I was in a spot where both rears were on wet rocks and spun together ala detroit. To round the uphill bend I needed to get the front left over about a two foot round granite boulder. I tried...

    ETC vs. Lockers

It's fun to read the first page only, then jump to the last to see how far into space a discussion has reached. I would say that if TT's help ETC, that the improvement would be marginal. My front TT works great in snow and thick mud, but might as well not be there in rocks (brake modulating...

    longtracks / longfields wtf?

I'm surprised not to hear about patents in all of this. If trying to machine ones own hd cvs were not an infringement, would it be feasible to do this?

    longtracks / longfields wtf?

I'm just a moderate here and Chapman has made me blow steam from my ears in the past; but he has me convinced on this one. I have done business with Rovertracks, GBR, RN, RTE, and been happy with all, but happiest with Keith. I hope his business survives and thrives!

My Rover versus a Ford Focus

Unfortunately, I do know an adjuster. I also know that he is on a ping-pong league with the attorney the ins tried to hire to represent me. I got my own, real attorney. The adjuster can play games, but he might as well go shoot Darth Vader in the kneecap with a bb gun.

My Rover versus a Ford Focus

There is a plethora of advice on Discoweb, some good and some bad. You need to at least talk to an attorney. Not all of them are emotionless. Find one with kids the same age as yours, or maybe one that drives a Rover. I'm not saying run out and sue, but you need more than the advice of a...

One in every hundred Americans in prison

x2 Ask your dad what a 'cross-top' was when he was in high school. For the record, I am not a user. I tried this drug at a party and didn't like it, it made my weenie shrink.

One in every hundred Americans in prison

This was an interesting thread as I just finished my trial yesterday and was found not guilty after a year and a half of seeing how the DA in my state can: 1. Decide that I am guilty based on whatever was thrown onto his desk, which included no witnesses, just one mans word against me. 2. Use...

37 inch maxxis sticky creepy tires

Mongo, do you have any action pics of that? The time is getting closer to retire mine from daily driver action. Just curious.

    Bfg Km2 285/75/16

Are these going to be made in 255/85r16? I just put on Maxxis bighorns in that size and am very happy with them (minor rubbing after chop covered by d2 flares). The BFG's look cooler though.
