    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

It was this one. http://www.bputah.com/Disco2%20Parts/Land_Rover_Discovery_92C_198F_Thermostat.html And yeah they took the truck back, replaced the t-stat(with the same style), fan clutch, re bled, etc. still couldn't get the temps to come down. I'm assuming their supplier sent them the wrong...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

Yeah, but it's not at start up, it's once I throw it in the gear and go from 0mph to trying to make it up to speed. I'm def leaning toward: they installed a different style visc fan than what I'm used to. Coolant is now fine. I'm using the 190 stat and my system is working perfectly 202max...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

What you guys are saying makes me think fan clutch for sure, especially since it was put in at the same time as the tran flush. I have no idea why they would clean a 30$ filter. I didn't know that's what the service entailed until after it was done. I'm going to install a new filter...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

Good point. they installed a new viscous fan during that time, in an attempt to figure out why my temps were hitting 225+. But I'm almost 100% sure that the sound is coming from under the truck, near the tranny. Like I said it only makes the noise when I'm in gear and just get going, then it...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

Thanks k- rover. Totally agree with you, it is excessive, especially since It's no longer my dd, but I'm just in the habit of doing it. And it's easy for me to remember. I normally do the coolant flush once every two years. I do all of my own work(usually) so I feel that a once a year tranny...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

Yeah, I think the jury is still out on that. Been doing flush and filter change (not filter clean) for every year almost since I've owned the truck. I think the key is in replacing the filter and routine maintenance, not just doing a flush and calling it good.

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

Acg, thanks a ton for the video. Totally make sense what you're saying. I'm just going to order a filter/gasket kit and get under there and replace it. That's definitely the last straw...not going back to that shop again. They did some other work grouped with my tranny flush. Coolant flush...

    transmission sounds like big fan/blower

99 DII 230K. just had my tranny serviced, as i do every year. 1 for 1 fluid swap with a filter replacement, but this time i took it to a different (1/2 the price) rover shop than i normally do. they claimed that they just "cleaned" the filter along with new fluid. now my transmission...

Are +2" shocks nessicary for a 2" lift

glad to see your past 200k. mine's at 209, but i wouldn't say it's running strong, haha, it just runs.

Are +2" shocks nessicary for a 2" lift

it's a bit late, but i'm running the tf +2's with 2" rte springs. while my sway bars are connected my springs do not unseat. expect to have to remove or lower the front cross member and add extended brake lines. drive shaft will rest on the cross member if you start to pull anything up...

    D2 Coil pack question

for the sake of enlightenment, do the coils always fail at coupled cylinders, or is it common or even possible for them to fail at one cylinder only? good, conclusive thread.

    D2 major leak

Search around on here. I recently read a post where someone had figured out an easy way to replace the matrix. I'm pretty sure it was a DII

    D2 bad hub diagnosing

haha, the more i learn the more i see why most eventually graduate from LRO. i see what you're saying though. if they've replaced the sensor with a new one, than that's all that's left, a bad hub. thanks

    D2 bad hub diagnosing

yeah, 10-4. i've actually told both of them that the hubs are probably knackered, but it's at least worth checking the connectors first. one guy i know did replace the front right sensor and is still dropping the same code for low output. i'm sure it's the hub though.
