    Front Differential Catastrophic Failure

The axle metal is all pretty thick, so I doubt you'd have to do that unless you really wanted to. If you prepped and painted the area you might be surprised at how "good enough" it looked.

Looks like style 50: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/50 probably the 16x7 ET20 ones...

    Defender wheels on a d2

I agree if you're looking for a show car, but they're usually plenty fine for an off-roader...

    Defender wheels on a d2

Just for reference... After looking through the style site, I'm pretty sure the rims that that dude had were style 132 or style 138.

A stock D2 rim has ET57: https://www.wheel-size.com/size/land-rover/discovery-2/2004/ A style 93 bmw is also 18x8, but offset of only ET24: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/93 Style 69 from an E38 or E39, you can go all the way to ET20 or ET25 in a 9.5" wide...

    Defender wheels on a d2

If you want to play around with oem quality aluminum, there are lots of not-terrible-looking BMW wheels from the era that fit the lugs and in many different sizes/offsets. @fishEH had a pic of a friend of his with 33s on some kind of BMW wheel. You can find sets all over Craig's and Facebook...

    Defender wheels on a d2

I'm pretty sure the bub bore is different between the P38/D2 and the rest of the 5x120 trucks. I was looking for 18" wheels for an E53 X5. The hub bore for the LR3/Sport is compatible, but P38/D2 is not.

    New Bronco

So the sport does actually narrow at the top. I still think something about is doofier than the freelander 😄

    Timing Chain Class Action

So coolant pipe issues are much more common and just as catastrophic?

    New Bronco

It's relative. If you're expecting it to feel like this: And then in person it looks like this: Then it seems "small" on first impression 😁

    LR3 front lower control arms.

That's interesting... So there are more subtle differences between the two beyond just the body & interior?

There is a month old Craig's ad here selling a 2004 that's halfway through an engine replacement. They're asking $1750 without the replacement engine and +$900 to include the engine he bought. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/pts/d/saint-paul-pending-sale-land-rover/7404834886.html

    New Bronco

So, I just read that the Bronco is based on the Ranger T6 platform. The T6 was chosen partially due to its similarity in size to the wrangler, which is seen as the Broncos main competitor. So it seems tiny and wrangler-sized...cuz that's what it's supposed to be 🤷
