x2....had this issue on all three Disco's I have owned...now I just spray WD40 inside the door handle pull every oil change....

My 04 has been great...had it for almost 10 years now...14K-86K. ONE breakdown...the crank pos sensor...easy repair. The transfer box weeps...but they all do sir! Top up every oil change while greasing the propshafts. BUT...and here is the rub...they are only as good as the care and (over)...

lower power, more fuel consumption, no chance of passing inspection.....why on earth would you do this in a working efi vehicle? It's an ok setup for an MGB conversion...but not for a Disco....:banghead:

x2......sadly you have to avoid a rust belt car....they thinned the chassis to save weight on the 03s and 04s and despite over maintaining my 04 I STILL am fighting the rust worm on this car.....shame...it's really a fantastic Truck in soi many other ways....typically British....like me! :)

Not my experience...but in HIS situation it's worth a try before ripping into the motor....got nothing to lose!

Worth also throwing in some K-Seal...probably the best coolant stop leak product out there....and change that thermostat for a 180 degree ....stat!!!
