    monitoring multiple batteries

I suggest you use an isolating relay to hook up your other battery in parallel. I've used this with no problems. You can buy the relay and cables if you don't have it yet on line. Google Wrangler Power Products and you'll see the isolator relay. I don't recommend the battery isolator as my...

Someone with "2 in OME kit and ATAs tell me ...

I have 2" OME HD springs and 265/75/16 M/T's and will clear 6'6" garage barrier by an 1/4" if fuel tank is full. When empty it touches the barrier. SO I normally park outside when half full.

2000 Discovery II (can't live with them, can't kill them)

Reading all these posts is like groundhog day for me. :smilelol: I have a 2" binder of all the warranty work done by the stealer and pretty much I have a brand new rig by the time my warranty crapped out at 50K. I just wish my headliner is not sagging. Nothing worst than a sagging headliner...

    99 Discovery Series II

Welcome. If you want to take care of this nice inheritance, see a good independent LR mechanic or find someone in the boards close to you that can at least diagnose whats going on, etc. Those blinking lights are common and just one of the perks of owning a LR. Good luck and hope that you'll sort...

Muddy Wheeling trip now 3 Amigos?

Won't hurt to wash the wheel sensors but then again they could already be borderline to begin with. All it takes is some difference in the resistance and tres amigos start lighting up.

    Stupid question, but......

I thought it was meant to keep the bumper / brush guard from drooping ala brassiere - no. ;)

Totally stupid newbie question - CDL

FWIW, 50/50 theoretically yes, reality no. So the naswer is 50/50.:p This thread can give you a headache.:smilelol:

Cut stock front bumper on D2???

Trimming the stock plastic bumpers is real easy. Did it with a Kabar and dremel tool. I had to do it to clear 265/75/16 with an OME lift. Went wheeling and got real vertical and voila, front bumper is smashed. Replaced with an ARB for cheap.

    Wet Floor

I used to have a little puddle on my floor mats after a car wash / rain and I thought it was from a leaky windshield seal. Not long after that a big piece of gravel broke my windshield (stupid California freeways). I filed a claim and had it replaced for free. Lo and behold the leak was fixed...

1997 Discovery, Battery continues to lose charge

Did you check if the alternator is charging?

    CB Radio with USB/LSB?

Single side band operation from Channel 1 - 40 (26.9xxx-27.4xxx MHz) is open for all citizens hence Citizen Band - CB for short. SSB (USB/LSB) operation goes farther than the AM operation. However, just like the regular AM, it has a lot of bleedover from other channels and some big rigs using...

Two Year Stint in Africa DI v DII

I'll get a Toyota Hi-lux crew cab 4WD 2.8L 4-cylinder diesel. It is our Toyota Tacoma and made famous by the Afghan war as Taliban mobile. Our own SOF also use them in the rugged mountains of Tora Bora, etc. Cheap and I'm sure reliable.

    ABS/HD/TC-- Definitive Fixes

I've seen all three come at least 3x / year. Replaced hubs, sensor, etc. Now I'll take it to the LR for some recall I received years ago. I would have to agree the ABS modulator is the culprit since it pumps multiple times when it is not necessary then tres amigos show-up. :(

    Catalytic Converter Y Pipe

How about going catless? Not that I am condoning environmental pollution, etc. but most rigs I've seen are running catless.

    Disco II Leather Question

Lots of leather cleaner / conditioner out there. I used to buy the expensive stuff and found out they are pretty much repackaged products. Now I just use Meguiars and it does the job. Buy a tube and some buffing cloth then find a nice shade and a good brew and some elbow grease you'll be fine.
