Anything I need to be aware of when hotwiring the compressor? My AC went out recently and Id like to check that. Just run a lead from the battery hot to the compressor?

something else to consider is air in your system. Discos are funny but when you add/replace coolant you should really jack up the right front tire as far as it will go (waay up) and run the engine until all the bubbles stop coming out the plug, keep adding coolant intermittently until it stops...

no idea, its a 95 disco I with a 3.9 and a 5 speed

Do you have to replace all the components or just the compressor? I've heard that when it grenades it sucks a buch of bad stuff into and clogs the whole system, can anyone confirm this?
