    Trails Rd. Delta PA 07/09

I'm only a couple of miles away but I don't think I will be able to make it. Sorry, but thanks for the invite. It seems that most of those type of roads in York County are being abandoned back to the property owners and closed off. That's what happened this spring at Sawmill Road near the...

    Series hi/low handle needed

Jen, The High/Low handle is the larger one with the red knob, that moves front to back. The little skinny one with the yellow knob that pushes down is for 4WD. Whichever one you need I can send one along. PM you need and address. Bob

    Unleaded/Leaded Fuel

I'd say it is a leaded head, if it is the original. I ran my '80 109 for a year before I started having drivability issues caused by worn valve seats. Once the seats started wearing, I found I had to adjust the valves every two weeks or so due to the valve clearances being too tight. As the...

    Front driveshaft question

Jen, The problem might just be in the shifter assembly or top cover. Don't feel over frustrated, yet. It could be an easy fix. Bob

    starting on my IIA.

I mounted the radio in the wife's three door SIIA 109 vertically on the bulkhead behind the middle seat. There is a bit more room in the 109 compared to the 88, but I think it might fit. The radio is out if sight, but the seat back is just tilted forward to fiddle with the radio buttons. Bob

    The saga continues...

I once had an ignition coil fail with similar symptoms. I could sit in neutral and rev it all I wanted, and it idled great, but as soon as I put any load on it would die off. I thought it was a fuel problem.... I swapped coils in frustration..... Bob '02 Disco II SD '80 SIII 109 '75 SIII 88...

    114:Shuttle Valve Electric Failure

I did the wire fix a few months ago and have been amigo free since. The ABS and other functions have worked great. Amazingly simple and effective fix. Bob '02 Disco II SD '80 SIII 109 '75 SIII 88 V8 '68 SIIA 109 V8

    Aftermarket fuel gauge?

There are some electronic stabilizers available on e-bay from time to time, made for the MG and Triumph crowd. Otherwise just use the stock Rover / MG / Triumph one. Bob

    Aftermarket fuel gauge?

I think the VDO gauge in my SIII 109 is a 300 to 30 ohm gauge, and it functions fine with the stock sender. The VDO instructions don't say anything about a voltage stabilizer, but I note the VDO electric oil pressure gauge shows a lowering pressure as voltage drops..... I don't think it would...

    Disco Tail lights

I think these were rear fog lamps on our '96. They use a 21 watt bulb so they are a bit brighter than the tail lamps, and can only come on when the headlamps are on. The switch was in the bank of switches to the left of the steering column. Bob
