I have used the JATE rings for recovery on my 89 and 01 DII and have never had a problem with them. I removed the lower bumper bolts on each side and used those holes for attaching the JATE rings. No drilling necessary.

Will - This 88 have any of the center console/window switch panel parts still on it?
