1996 Disco 5- Speed built *feeler*

I figured i would at least post an honest pic rather then doll up the truck. Being that i have been working on the truck since 99, I do have 16k in it. If you count the new 5speed, transfer case, etc.. I guess another thing that I have realized in the past couple of years is that everyone is...

1996 Disco 5- Speed built *feeler*

Trying to get an idea of what my truck would be worth. Of course i won't get what i have in it, but i also don't know if it is worth selling or just to keep it. Tell me what you think. Here is a list of mods and probs. 1996 Discovery 4.0 V8 146K (valves done @ 75k) 5-Speed (new tranny @...

Transmission (?) died - sounds like rocks rolling around (and wont move)

the gear itself was only around $100-200. It is pretty simple to put in, but i also found out that i had cracked my input shaft about 100 miles after i fixed the gear. So i ended up putting a new tranny in also. But i tend to start by fixing the least expensive component first instead of...

Transmission (?) died - sounds like rocks rolling around (and wont move)

It could be the input gear in the t-case. The one that slides on the output shaft from the tranny. I have had this exact thing happen to me. I basically stripped the inner splines from the gear. Brad

    Rocky Mountain Under/Overdrive

A birdy on my shoulder has told me that Ray Wood at Wise Owl innovations is working on an Overdrive/Underdrive box that will bolt-on to to the LT230s and maybe even ZF boxes. I think it would be around $2500. I believe he was going to work on a working model starting this spring. So if you...

Any one run the Q78 Super Swamper?

It acturally depends if you are getting Q78 15s or 16s. The 15s are a tad wider. Brad

Any one run the Q78 Super Swamper?

Hopefully I will be running Q78 16s, but not Swamper, i am going Gateway Buckshot Bias Ply. I had a set of P78s and they were the best set of tires i ever owned. Now that i am running 35s, i figure a 36x9.5 will be just right. Brad

    Iceland Discos

From what i have heard they use stocker axles, and use MD flanges. Being that they are on mostly ice and snow there isnt that much strain put on the axles themselves. And yes you can bang around town with 38s and stock axles, they just start breaking on rocks etc.. Brad
