2003 Disco 2 No spark, No Codes

All, CKPS did the trick. She's running like a top! What a difference those spacers make!! I am just glad there is no way to plug it in wrong. The worst part of that job is unplugging the CKPS from the wiring harness and plugging it back in. Thanks all! As always, thank you for all the...

2003 Disco 2 No spark, No Codes

All, I am a dumby. I did put the spacers on the wrong side of the CKPS. I will redo that tonight or in the morning and let you know how that goes. Thanks for the patience and advice. I will repost to advise how that goes. Maybe I won't have to do anything more than that. :patriot:

2003 Disco 2 No spark, No Codes

I replaced the CKPS today. Unfortunately, all the symptoms are still the same as before. Thanks KC Disco Guy. I tried your first paragraph. I will check out the internal circuit board in the fuse panel. What is the fix if the circuit board has failed?

2003 Disco 2 No spark, No Codes

I replaced the engine in my 2003 Discovery about 3 years/40k miles ago. I have had no issues since that time. Recently, the truck died on my way home from work. I had it towed to my driveway to check it out. A couple days later, it started, but I didn't drive it anywhere out of fear of being...

    Overheating already... awesome.

I would start simple and make sure you don't have any air in your cooling system. Raise the expansion tank about 8 inches, open the bleeder screw(plastic phillips head screw on the top radiator hose). Add coolant while the tank is elevated until a steady flow of coolant comes out of the hole...

Need a new engine for the 2nd time... Please HELP!

In short, what I'm trying to say is, whatever you do, don't buy from Car Cannibal. If I wanted lied to and treated that bad, I'd ask my ex-wife out on a date.

Need a new engine for the 2nd time... Please HELP!

FYI: CAR CANNIBAL is the worst excuse for a business on the face of the planet. And I use the term "business" loosely when referring to them. I shopped around alot for engines too, I regrettably bought from Car Cannibal on 8/1/09. I would never do business with them EVER again (write up...

03 D2 SE Cranks Forever, No Start

I checked RAVE, I couldn't find any fuses that would affect you coil packs. But that doesn't mean there aren't any. It's late and I just did a quick check.

    '04 D2 - fuel door switch question

I fixed mine, it's flush, but it took some good ol' fashioned bending and fine tuning. I wish my fuel door was MY biggest problem........

    After Market Gauges for D2's

03 D2 SE Cranks Forever, No Start

I put my magencor's in about a year ago. I hear you on the lenght; if they were just a tad longer it'd be easier to route them. My magnecors are working well, but I installed new coil packs at the same time too....I bet my old OEM wires would have worked just as well. But I have a tendency to...

03 D2 SE Cranks Forever, No Start

I had similar issues with my 03. First I checked for spark, fuel, etc. Then i replaced my plugs. I then noticed all of my misfire codes were coming from one coil pack. (Check rave, but there are two coil packs, each service four cylinders.) My misfires were all coming from cylinders that were...

    After Market Gauges for D2's

Bully dog looks pretty neat, but that may be a bit of an overkill for me. I just want to be able to monitor the oil pressure and temperature. I feel that if I can keep an eye on those values, that my new engine will be in business for a long time to come......like it should be. The 4.6 is a...

    After Market Gauges for D2's

It only had 59,000 on it. When it slipped a cam bearing and lost oil pressure. I don't believe the cam bearing slippage is common. I have a few theories that range from poor quality control in 2003's engine plant to the possibility the neglect from the previous owner. If you search discoweb...

    After Market Gauges for D2's

No worries, I'm not payihng $300 for it either, but if I can find it w/in $50 of how much it will cost to install Cyberdynes or Glowshift oil pressure and water gauges, then I'm buying it.

Thanks for the posts! The scan gauge looks great. I would lean that way, but I already have a scan tool (plus oil pressure is my #1 priority). Thanks for the posts so far. Right now I think I'm leaning toward this guy: http://www.spatechnique.com/product_pages/productdetails.cfm?id=365 With...

    After Market Gauges for D2's

I am planning on installing some an oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge in my 2003 Discovery II next week. I would like to mount the gauges as discretely and neatly as possible. I also have not decided exactly on which gauges I'll be purcahsing either, at this point I'm leaning...

    Replacement Welded Cross member bolts/nuts

Thanks! That's what I was thinking would be the best solution. I just wanted to test the waters and see if anyone else had tried it. I'll get my wrenches out and see what fits there. Then, I'm off to the hardware store!!! Thanks again!!!:applause:
