bump
still looking for some direction with this. I can drive it, but its a pain and since I drive this truck all over the state for work, I'm scared I'll get stranded somewhere in the middle of nowhere so would like to take care of this soon.
thanks,

Well it only acts up in Park- starting the truck usually means having to push the selector forward with some force, or easier and more commonly just putting it in nuetral and then starting. P is the problem, RND21 all work fine so far. Does this even sound like the XYZ???
The brake switch is...
So that is one vote for adjust it, and another vote to not touch it...
I am fairly mechanical and not affraid to tear into this, but if I do not have the right tools then "thats that".
Urban Panzer-> what clips are you refering too? Are they on the cable already?
Disco Mike-> where you...
Hey everyone,
I am having some issues with my truck not wanting to go into park fully, causing some starting issues. The red lights next to the shifter do not light up when in park unless I push the shifter forward pretty hard- and its getting worst.
How do I adjust the XYZ switch? And...
Now this sounds like a great story!!!?
I have to admit that I did this once in my built wrangler I used to have- we're talking 8" lift, built axels, beadlocks and 35's outrunning a sports sedan (being chased by wife's psycho ex) and that was tough- I can't imagine doing this in a disco with...
What is the popular way to play your music from an iPhone or iPod through the factory head unit? I have an '03 DII with the midline alpine system with a 6 disc changer under the passenger seat.
I have searched this topic and have not found anything thatade me feel completely satisfied and...
Hello everyone!
My '03 DII has started acting funny over the last week. It seems to not be recognizing that it is in park, rather its to start the truck or shift out of park to another gear. I have to press forward on the shifter with a small amount of force before I can start the engine or...
Just an update-
Finished the rough install today and have to admitt that I couldn't resist and went ahead with a much larger amp/sub combo but am very happy with the result.
I used a very easily accessed rubber plug in the firewall/ behind the passenger side floorboard to run the power wire...
wow- thank you very much! Like I said, I'm not very good with the RAVE, but now I see what your seeing.
I have a line converter already from a past vehicle, is there anything that stops me from using signal from one of the door speakers' signal to feed that converter for the amp? I am...
I suppose I'm just not very good with the RAVE then, because I looked for a schematic that would identify what each wire in the harness for the factory amp under the driver's seat was, to no availe.
I like your idea of using the antenna power-on for the amp-on, but that still does not solve my...
I've been doing some research and am thinking maybe I need something like this:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_161LC6IW/AudioControl-LC6i-White.html?tp=6870
I'm no stereo genious, but according to the description- you feed it speaker level signal and it reads signal to turn on, sends a signal...
I need some direction:
I am putting a small amp and sub combo in my '03 DII that has the non-HK system with an amp under the driver's seat and a very pathetic sub in the rear door.
I need to locate the amp-on signal wire to tell my new amp when to turn on.
I also need to know the best...
I thought I'd put this on here just to share:
I started doing this for a fundraiser for a charity and liked it so much I bought a bunch for myself (like several years worth, this stuff ROCKS when camping or out wheeling). Then I find that a longtime buddy has been selling this as a buisness...
Thought I should update this post for the next poor guy that has to go through what I did...
My Thermostat failed (sort of) and was sticking partially open when heated. It would allow fluid to flow through, but never opened all the way as needed, so as things heated up- pressure began to...
ok- '03 Disco II:
I'm down to only my rear driverside door working properly.
All 5 doors will lock if I hit the button on the key twice (Powerlock?) but thats it.
Only the one functioning door will unlock with the remote. All doors will open and unlock from the inside- first pull unlocks...
Well..... Now I'm thinking blown HG! Pressure in the coolant system, seemingly working thermostat (new one was ordered today) and no other explination to the overflowing issue....
Going to get a chemical block test done at the first of next week and we'll know for sure... wish me luck...
because I can't find one in the entire state! I guess I'm just going to order one from roverconnection, they're not that far away and its only $17...
Thanks!
Does anyone know how much a thermostat should open for the '03 disco II? I took mine out today and gave it the stovetop test, only to find that it opens about 1/8th to 1/4th of an inch at most at full op temp. This seems small, especially when LR uses the tubing size they use. I really feel...
