i was wondering if it is more important to replace the coolant temperature sensor or the feul temperature sensor to fix my cold start problem. im not sure whether one is more important than the other.

i'm having the same problem, ill turn the truck on and it will idle high but sometimes it will idle fine but as soon as i turn it off and start it up again it idle way to high and like 1100 or 1400 rpm. i too just replaced the stepper motor so....... how do you reset the values? 88 RRC

sounds like it could be the MAF sensor, or the idle bypass valve. if those dont work try to get your cats changed and o2 sensors done.

try the sump gasket , then try the oil pump sensor, that thing screws on and if a little loose, can drip oil , and when running can spray oil all over the under side of engine and starter
