Problem solved, the converter that was installed by the trailer shop when they wired the truck was shot. they said it probably happened by hooking upto a trailer with a grounding problem, causing the back feed to the brake lights. Thanks for the help guys

Got it. so when the brake lights illuminate (even due to a wiring problem) it trips the solenoid, thinking your foot is on the brake. i guess i'll put the console back together and look at trailer wiring stuff:banghead: Thanks for the tips

Now, removed passenger side tailight ass. and re-seated all bulbs. all filaments good, all contact points appeared clean and un-corroded. weird part is I unhooked rear passenger assembly and front blinker and the driver side and 3rd brake light kept blinking in sinc with turn signal. when...
