I just got word back from the garage concerning the brake master cylinder... Seems like I had a pinhole lead in my rubber hose going from the front left caliper to the hard lines!!! No wonder I couldn't get any pressure... Weird part is that my fluid level wasn't noticeably lower. It's got me...
I just dropped it off at the shop because it's starting to get too cold for me to do the work outside. I'll be sure to mention that they completely bleed the system fully and also through the lines going straight to the ABS modulator.
At this point I think I'll still change the master just to...
Thanks Jafir, I'll give that a shot too.
I was thinking though, doesn't the modulator get the pressure from the master? Therefore if the master isn't giving he required pressure then the modulator wouldn't work properly, right? What's bugging me is that I haven't lost any brake fluid even after...
Hello all,
I haven't used my Disco 2 in about 3 months and since winter is almost here, I need to get it up and running. My brake pedal goes all the way to the floor and I noticed my rear calipers both weren't working. I replaced rear pads/caliper/rotors and I still have a brake pedal that does...
I'm having the same noise now. It turns out that the bushing in the center of the Watts linkage is loose and makes a clunking sound when I go over uneven road at low speed. At highway speed, it makes for interesting driving because when I take a curve, the truck shifts left or right pretty...
Out of curiosity, were you able to figure out what happened? I had the exact same problem this weekend except my truck still hasn't started. I don't hear any relay chatter, I banged on the starter, battery is still strong. I tuned the truck off an saw I was a little too far from the curb and...
I'm starting to think it is in fact vacuum and not pressure. I don't have a pressure gauge handy but with the cold we've been experiencing lately vacuum makes sense. I will pick up a gauge this weekend and test it.
New project for summer: get a taller garage door ao my lifted disco will fit in...
Pressurized as in as I unscrew the cap, it goes "pfffshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" for a few seconds as I'm taking it off. I know when the engine is running it will generate pressure (it's designed to do so) but I can't see how it can hold that pressure after 1 week of not driving. Can the very...
Hello all, I was wondering if you can help me out.... I've searched the forum and I can't seem to find something similar.
I haven't driven my Disco 2 in about 1 week now. I know I have a coolant leak somewhere because I have to top it off every few weeks. When I removed the reservoir cap the...
If I'm not mistaken, once you bleed it after the first round, you have to drive it a little and have your traction control kick in, as well as ABS and even ideally the hill descent feature. Then once all 3 have engaged you bleed it again and it should solve the issue.
I had the same pull when accelerating, and when I got off the gas it would shift back to the right. Turns out it was the middle busing on the Watts linkage. You might want to check it out because basically that's what locates the rear axle.
I'm curious to hear about how difficult it's going to be to replace the heater core... I have the same gurgling sound from the passenger footwell, but luckily no smoke. I've lived with that sound for over a year but I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon.
I just took a 2" length of steel tube with the proper diameter to fir in the O2 sensor and welded an M18 nut on it so screw the sensors on (or you can buy O2 sensor bungs from any auto parts store or speed shot). Then I welded the whole thing to the original holes in the exhaust after removing...
I've had a bi-xenon kit on my 00 disco since 2007 without any issues whatsoever. I can't even compare them to the originals. As for as the legal aspect, in Montreal (where I live) it's illegal to retrofit them on a car that didn't come standard with them. So if the 00 D2 came with an HID option...
Thanks for the info! I'm just trying to avoid removing driveshafts/dropping tranny and x-fer case to get to the rear main.... I guess I'm getting lazier as I get older lol
I'll try some thicker oil and an additive first to see if it helps
Just out of curiosity, are the RMS' known to leak on the D2's? My mechanic mentioned that mine is leaking (I know for sure there is a leak but I thought it was from my valve covers). When I stuck my head under the truck, the bottom and the back of the engine are covered although I know that if...
Here are the pics that mapman tried posting:
