Your efforts make mine look minuscule and I am near the point of parking mine as well - way too much time and effort when you have a 4 year old and 6 month old running around.
I am shying away from putting an oil pressure gauge on for fear of what it will tell me...

I partially rebuilt the motor already, and yes, that WAS the upper rear main. I obviously replaced the main bearings and also the rod bearings but I was getting the low pressure light after the rebuild. I was thinking maybe the op relief might be getting stuck - shoulda replaced all that while...
So my oil light has been flickering at idle when hot so I pulled mine apart today and a 1" long x 1/8" thick hunk of metal came out with the spring. :(

My question really is I couldn't get the p/r piston to come out, but...
Yeah - it was a bit low.
And in my scenario, I would have been out the cost of plugs and still in the same boat. Not to say that new plugs are a bad thing :).
Consider my tongue bitten. I hear you on swapping parts randomly - pricey and annoying!
