Well i got tired of the brake and tail lights going out
looked at getting new ones but at a 100 bucks a side I decided to try and fit some other type socket into them instead
Did some digging and found these...
I finally got my parts
It took a week just to dispatch the parts and only 2 days to get here.
I called them about the order a couple of times and they were always very nice and professional on the phone.
It just takes them longer than most vendors to ship.
Now I know.
It was very cheap compared to the US vendors even with shipping air frt with Fed Ex
But the Biggest reason was the description of the TEE junction was clearer on what it was.
I am re-plumping my rear brakes to a single line after they rusted out.
I have deleted my Anti Locks and proportioning...
Has anyone else had an issue getting parts from Craddock.
I ordered a brake hose and a tee last Sunday and they still haven't shipped it
I have called them twice about it and they have said it should ship that day. But they haven't. :banghead: I will call them tomorrow and cancel it if it has...
I haven't noticed any difference than it was before it stuck and shut off the rear brakes.
Meaning the brakes work just fine now without the pro valve. But I know how to drive also. (like most on this forum)
It never was big on locking up the brakes anyway
No I remember but at a 100K you did a valve job and a rering and maybe a cam and lifters in your SB Chevy for about 500 bucks and you were good to go.
Our FV block fords would run about 130k and need the same if they didn't brake a ring in the #8 cyl
The fords would twist the oil pump drive...
Ya mine has had the slow light also since 2008.
I thought maybe that was related to the low oil pressure. But who knows.
I just know back in the 80's when I did more car and truck work (before crank driven oil pumps in V8's) if you had low oil pressure it wasnt a pump problem it was a clearance...
Sorry I search but didn't really find an answer
But what is the normal oil pressure for a 4.0 with 5w40 Rotela (or whatever oil your using) at operating temp. 2000 rpm and at idle.
Just installed a gauge in mine and I am getting 10psi at 700rpm and about 30psi at 2000rpm fully warmed up .
I...
I have installed a new cat on my 96 D1 about 3 yrs ago and I don't think my cat monitor has ever reset. It doesn't mater in MO because we can have 2 incomplete and it will still pass for a 96. I wish I knew that before i installed the new cat :banghead:
Why would a 96 have a evap monitor
I have a D-1 and my proportioning valve stuck causing the rear brakes to not apply. I just bypassed it without any problems. It is very easy to do with 2 short sections of brake line.
Update on this condition after 4 years
It still has it but I have been switching to lighter grade syn Rotella oil in the winter but this time I put an even lighter grade and now sometimes the oil light flickers at idle.
I guess I need to stick with the syn Rotella.
I am thinking of installing...
Just so you know the old cats are worth 90bucks each. (You will have to find a scrap yard to buy them.) So you can deduct this from the cost of the new ones.
The numbers you will find if you search may be old. Magna Flow now has newer cats that are OBD2 aproved. Search and you will find plenty...
I think I had the fluid level to high.
I now have it just touching the dipstick when cold and about 19mm above max cold when it is hot. It is working much better now.:banghead:
