95 disco one. transfer case gone. 100k on the odometer, but the engine was rebulit some 19000 miles or so. at least that's what the prior owner said. runs great outside of the transfer case situation. $800 Columbia SC

so my transmission shop says the transfer case is gone in my 95 stick disco. and of course, it's an expensive repair. how difficult/expensive of a home repair is this? i'm comfortable with engines, but have never worked on a transmission before.

this seems like it'd be something easy...unfortunately,it's kicking my ass. i have a relatively big leak, and I can't pinpoint it. when i'm driving, the engine smokes from the compartment...i'm assuming that's oil hitting the exhaust. with the engine running in my driveway, i don't see anything...

need a brake switch for a 95 disco...among other things. looking for good price and good cutomer service. any recommendations? and now for the tech...anyone have a wiring diagram for the pillar turn signals on this beast? they aren't working...
