    D2 AC-problem

Point taken. Need to find a AC-workshop working according to seventyfive's procedure. But please accept that 30 bar, according to manual, is NOT supposed to disengage compressor. The fans are usually rock-solid here, due to roadsalt, but mine is actually working...at least when forced - and at...

    D2 AC-problem

Yes, it blows cold, but it also blows green stuff out of the pipe/hose/dryer-part av the AC-system... Usually I am able to diagnose myself, but pressure and so on in the AC-system is beyond the capabilities of the tools in my possession - and the Nanocom is not at much help. I'm working on...

    D2 AC-problem

Correct, discostew, and according to factory manual that is within spec of engaged compressor - but still too high according to ACworkshop. Pressure switch shall disengage comoressor at 32bar and below 2. Closing/engaging compressor at 2.3 or below 26. 4th Amigo: Is it recommended renewing...

    D2 AC-problem

Receiver-dryer was not replaced. Fan works perfectly, but it is difficult to force-engage it, as it is regulated by ATC - which does not engage fan until ambient temp of 28degrees centigrade ( and disengage at 25degrees). Also, the 30bar opressure found by workshop is also within soec of NOT...

    D2 AC-problem

Freon filled two days ago, so is almost full system - but for what has already leaked. Compressor clutch engages, and system runs "normal". Pressure should be regulated by the thermostatic expansion valve, using a temperature sensitive fluid. Hence, this operates without any interference from...

    D2 AC-problem

 mike...remember: Axel Haakonsen is also norwegian ;-) Of course, rovercanus, would aporeciate it,but it's way back in the old world: /phone#deleted/

    D2 AC-problem

Thanx! Ahhh...yes, there's an evaporator temperature sensor - to prevent formation of formation of ice. Is it this you mean by ac-temp switch? Could this throw the problems? To me it still seems the pressure switch is faulty... Is it the AAT being displayed at the ATC?

    D2 AC-problem

As said: Fan turns by using diagnostic (Nanocom). According to manual, fan will turn on above 25degrees centigrade. OR if viscous fan does not lower temp as necessary. Fan worked a treat while offroading some time ago, but don't know for sure now, as it is not that hot here so it will not fire...

    D2 AC-problem

AC-leaking from D2 TD5. Hose/pipe from wing to reciever-dryer were replaced 2 years ago, but has now blown o-rings and it all leaks again. Workshop finds a pressure of 30bar, which they claim is caused by AC-fan not swinging, building too high temp and too high pressure. AFAIK the AC-fan is...

    D2 t-case clunk

Finally found my workshop manual...: 41.20.51 #5 says drive flange nut shall have 148NM However, if that nut has not come loose (which I do suspect it has not), how do I then proceed? Are we talking adjusting preload, or smth else? To me it seems like an involved job to change shims/set correct...

    D2 t-case clunk

There has been a bit of clunk in the drive-dept lately, and this evening I finally slid under the D2 to check. It's an ashcorft recon unit that has done some some 60.000km since rebuild. I found some play in the front output area from the T-case - I can move it a bit up/down when pushing it...

    Carputer in D2

I am looking into swapping the radio-cassette-unit for a car-computer-solution in a 2000model D2. Anyone made one up, and have some experience to share? 1) Screensize and mounting (fixed or motorized?) Intend to use the space that now is occupied by the radio/cassette; cutting the bezel and...

    Electricity into cockpit - D2

An update - and the answer is: A heavy gauge (I used 12mm2) wire, attached to the battery- or alternator bolt in the engine compartment fusebox (I have TD5) . Routed back to beneath the brake mastercylinder, where there's a rubber grommet. Enters cabin in the corner close to clutch/pedal/beside...

    Electricity into cockpit - D2

On the D1 there were an 8mm (nylonsealed) stud coming through the bulkhead into passenger footwell, enabling to build a new fusebox to power all sorts of stuff inside cabin. On my D2 I just can't find any heavy-gauge wiring coming into the cabin...how do You find power to fit power-consuming...

Question after CDL Install. TC & ABS lights on

Cheers Urban Panzer! If I remember correctly (?), You can tick a box in nanocom to enlighten the BCM that a CDL is fitted...does this in any way affect the issue at hand? (BTW: I struggled a lot to find the cutting-wire-article...You got two articles on Your site, and the needed article was...

Question after CDL Install. TC & ABS lights on

And these SLABS are interchangeable just like that? (i.e. no reprogramming or anything, just remove/replace? Even on a TD5) If so - I take one! ;-)

Anyone got good SWR on CB at sparewheel holder?

This is why I do ask the question, even discussion has been going on for years: some say it sucks, some says it's no problem...but can't find backing with SWR-data. Think I'll go with rovercanus and (make)believe groundplane is not such a big problem... But then, more practical/technical, if...

Anyone got good SWR on CB at sparewheel holder?

Top load was a good idea I never thought about, as most use springbase/bottom loaded here! There's overhanging trees anywhere we trail, so short antenna is a must. Any need to run meshwire - door to pillar and/or mount to tirerack-bolts to achieve a good groundplane?

Anyone got good SWR on CB at sparewheel holder?

As it says on title line: 1) Have You (and how) got good SWR-readings from fitting CB-antenna on the sparewheel-holder (i.e. good groundplane)? Do not like the idea of a built-in-groundplane antenna, and it seems like the simplicity of fitment is offset by groundplaneproblems. Do really a...

    D2 tail door

Sorted! No amount of prying and WD40 helped, there is obviously more to it than the handle. Got a bit worried from reading this: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/57191-back-door-lock-completey-stuck-d2.html Hacksaw and cutting through the aperture from inside and outside weren't...
