AC-leaking from D2 TD5.
Hose/pipe from wing to reciever-dryer were replaced 2 years ago, but has now blown o-rings and it all leaks again. Workshop finds a pressure of 30bar, which they claim is caused by AC-fan not swinging, building too high temp and too high pressure.
AFAIK the AC-fan is...
There has been a bit of clunk in the drive-dept lately, and this evening I finally slid under the D2 to check. It's an ashcorft recon unit that has done some some 60.000km since rebuild.
I found some play in the front output area from the T-case - I can move it a bit up/down when pushing it...
I am looking into swapping the radio-cassette-unit for a car-computer-solution in a 2000model D2.
Anyone made one up, and have some experience to share?
1) Screensize and mounting (fixed or motorized?) Intend to use the space that now is occupied by the radio/cassette; cutting the bezel and...
On the D1 there were an 8mm (nylonsealed) stud coming through the bulkhead into passenger footwell, enabling to build a new fusebox to power all sorts of stuff inside cabin.
On my D2 I just can't find any heavy-gauge wiring coming into the cabin...how do You find power to fit power-consuming...
As it says on title line:
1) Have You (and how) got good SWR-readings from fitting CB-antenna on the sparewheel-holder (i.e. good groundplane)? Do not like the idea of a built-in-groundplane antenna, and it seems like the simplicity of fitment is offset by groundplaneproblems. Do really a...
Discovery 2. Tail door won't open. Exterior handle doesn't open, neither does interior.
Peeling doorcard, I can feel cable from interior handle move smth in the lock, same with the exterior handle...but door doesn't open.
I do suspect the lock itself is faulty - but neither manual pull of...

2000 MY Disco2
What could possibly cause the autobox only supplying 1.gear (but Reverse also)?
* The EAT receives signal from gearbox output sensor (as measured by multimeter in AC on the correct pins - reading .004 while turning wheel/.001 while stationary/.001v in reverse).
* The...
A Wee Timing Disaster - ending the realm of "Otto"
As they say: Shit happens. All the Time. And in the most inconvenient circumstances, possibly in BFE. But this time the most inconvenient catastrophe happens in the most convenient circumstances.
Running to the annual snow driving a couple of...
I would like to swap for a (NAS-style) receiver tow hitch, but no one seems to have nor find them here in Norway... Can anyone comfirm part# VUB104850G to be the genuine item? Anyone know of a European retailer of a similar non-genuine item?
I lifted my trusty old 1990 200tdi around 2", but the steering became off-castor and in fact quite bad. However, this was not quite unexpected as I have been researching and running D1 for the better part of 8 years - but then "Otto" died at me, som new castor-correcting radius arms were not...
