i have a 95 disco 1 i removed the exhaust cross over and it sputters and has lack of torque whats up please..

i have a 95' disco I it runs and drives good but i'm having trouble getting it to engage into low range it will go in high just fine need some input on whelp it at methods to try to help it.. any info is better than my knowledge. thanks
