Thanks for the verification. The chassis # also ends with a "G", shouldn't that indicate the 2.25 diesel engine? This one is petrol.

    1971 Series IIA?

I am thinking of buying a series IIA that has headlamps in the wings and in the grill (4 headlamps). I am assuming that somebody modified it at one point. I can't find any info anywhere on this kind of a setup for a 71 serIIA ( id plate stamped with nov of 1970 ). Has anyone seen or heard of a...

    Rear wiper/interior lights?

As far as I know, the rear wiper is supposed to be disabled when the driver door is open. Some kind of "safety feature" on my 96 D1. PS Grand Lake CO ROCKS....just got back from my first snowmobilin' trip up there.

    Lean and stumble when hot

Chris, Does ( or could) the problem you describe happen when trying to restart a hot engine on a warm day? You stated that it could leak overnight ... could it leak during the day while running around? After replacing my coolant temp sensor I no longer stall after restarting a hot engine on a...

    brake fluid leak

This past weekend I was doing a quick look under the disco ( old habit from a 109 I had) before taking off and there it was ... a little puddle of brake fluid coming from the driver side wheel. After a quick inspection it seems that it might be a piston seal. My question is this... it hasn't...

    Oil Cooler line repair option

How hard is it to switch out these lines as a preventative measure? I have a 96 and my lines are a little leaky but will probably get worse as the summer gets closer. The braided lines sound good to me....do you have details? cost, where'd you get them etc... :)

    Clunk when coming to stop

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be helpful.. I've recently started to hear a centrally located clunk sound when coming to a stop in my 96 D1. Doesn't seem like there is any slack in the driveline when starting out...only hear it when Ive come to almost a complete stop.TIA

My 96 doesn't like warmer weather...

Over the past couple weeks when it has been substantially warmer out the ol' disco somtimes will not hold an idle if I try to restart after it has been running a while. If I let it sit for an hour or so it starts like a champ. I 've already cleaned out the t-body which was kind of gummed up. Any...
