Any of you guys do this?

I prefer to drive diesels - three generations of diesel power and my LR3 which I sold to a friend.

    2020 Defender

My D5 has been very reliable - about to turn 30K on the odometer and just got back from 2500 mile trip that averaged over 28 mpg. Even took a run down the Tail of the Dragon in it.

What's your high score in a disco?

I met a guy in England that had 385,000 miles on his early 1970's Range Rover - still on the original engine. I had 196,000 miles on my 1991 Hunter Edition Range Rover when I sold it - had to put head gaskets in it when it overheated, a new radiator at 120,000 and a couple of water pumps and a...

Kennith - you really need to do some in depth reading about the Darien Gap expedition start here: http://www.range-rover-classic.com/Home/range-rover-darien-gap/darien-breakthrough And then go find a copy of his book Something Lost Behind the Ranges by Major J. N. Blashford-Snell, M.B.E...

Straight sixes are inherently balanced - its why BMW never abandoned them and Mercedes is going back to them. The only thing smoother than a straight six is a V-12 - which has three cylinders on a power stroke at any given moment in time. Straight sixes are usually easier to work on and I'm...

    Disco 5 diesel info

You can buy a 2.5 gallon container of DEF at Walmart, Home Depot or any auto parts store for around $12. It comes with a pouring spout but I usually use a funnel. I fill it up around every other month or just before a long trip. The filler cap is just inside the left hand fender about halfway...

    2019 4Runner Observations

The torque of the diesel engine is just amazing and it's so quiet and smooth in all situations. 400 miles per tank of fuel around town, around 600 miles in the highway (30 mpg) + it's just a great road car. It's a big improvement in handling over my old LR3, you can really feel how much lighter...

A friend of mine loves his Ridgeline... Go drive a D5 diesel. After 24,000 miles on mine it's really growing on me except for the rear hatch, I'm not a huge fan of the powered hatch.

Yes but I can load my 88" Series IIA on a trailer and comfortably haul it to wherever I want to go off roading and get 25 mpg doing it - or haul my travel trailer to the National Parks - or do a two day 1000 mile trip to my wife's family in New York on two tanks of fuel very comfortably. It has...

    2020 Defender

I've got a new Defender on order - to replace the D5, but I'm keeping my old Defender and the two Series trucks for the more difficult off road adventures. The D5 is a great daily driver/tow vehicle/long trip machine that is very, very comfortable for a 12 hour day behind the wheel. I expect the...

They were two different vehicles - the short wheelbase had the spare on the rear door - at the end of the video that was a LWB with a different license plate.

Look at the gap bin the cladding at the base of the windshield in this pic - it appears that the hood line and window line are much lower than the cladding would have you believe. https://www.motor1.com/news/290346/land-rover-defender-spied-again/

I'm starting to get used to the styling now after a year and a half of looking at it every day - from the front, its not too horrible, the rear end view is still awkward...

I'm guessing that the window line is much lower than the taped up version - in this side view you can see the trace of the rolled body line just above the door handles and I'm guessing the hood is much lower than the bulked up camouflage would have it appear.
