I know enough to not say "never" but the seals for the '04 roof rack are beefy and in good shape.
Also I don't see any evidence inside that water is making its way forward from the roof rack bolt.
The path it would need to take to get to the location in the first photo is also extremely...
OK so I pulled the headliner a few weeks ago and I have been chasing down the leaks. I think I have a good handle on the sunroofs but there is another that has me stumped. In the upper corners of the inner A-pillar to roof sheet metal I'm seeing drips as if the windshield was not installed...
ok I was able to read and then clear all codes and the amigos with the i930. Had to drive around the block a few times and clear them twice actually. But they are gone!
>>> I did Option B, but since then my truck has had wiring faults with two of the ABS wheel speed sensors.
And did these faults throw any codes that showed on the dash? Or did the option B hide them requiring you to scan the OBD for faults?
OK even tho the truck sits in the winter I'll be putting it back on then.
Any reason the LRs do this? I've had a number of cars with almost an identical Intake & Bosch mgmt setup that never needed the TB warmed.
>> What led you to Option B
I was doing coils and waiting for a new intake gasket so I decided to tear into the 3 Amigo light issue. Returning the wiring to as it was wont be an issue as I ran the original wires from the plug to outside the unit also.
Where are the other options explained...
Finally got around to doing the Hummer mod. Unfortunately after putting the SVS cover plate back on connecting the 2 wires (1 to ground and 1 to Yel/Grn) I still have all the Amigo lights. There were a number of possibly incomplete DIYs out there so I was not sure exactly what the final...
I did do a search but busy with the coils so didnt dive too deep. Most seemed to be cooling related discussions.
BTW, the more common DIYs on the intake manifold removal make it soo much harder than it actually is. I may do a write up to add to the hundred others later :)
Replacing my coils this weekend, and in the process of taking the manifold off I disconnected the throttle body coolant hose...
Which prompted the question... Is this really needed ? I see its a common failure point.
Oh I should have mentioned that I'm getting a lot of "creaking" noises when I turn the truck with weight on it. That is what had me thinking steering box but I could be way off base there.
Have recently replaced the tie rods and track rods including all joints.
I haven't wanted to accept that the column joints themselves are worn. I guess I'll have to get in there too as much as I hate that idea.
Appreciate it. (y)
My 2004 D2 steering is a bit loose. Looed all weekend for videos or DIYs on how to tighten but all I found was D1 info.
When I look at the top of the steering box I see a jam nut but the threaded portion in the center does not seem to have any hex etc in it to stop it from rotating.
Can these...
Here's an idea I had not thought of. Take your normal diamond plate or coin type vinyl flooring (like you would put in a car trailer) and cut it to fit the full length of the Disco with seats flipped forward, or removed as in my case.
Then for a finishing touch you could sew a fabric edge on...
I have removed the rear seats as this truck is primarily for hauling dogs and day trips on the TAT etc. What are some ideas / options for replacing the rear carpet with a padded rubber floor or for some sort of full depth, full width rubber pad over the OE carpet. Not interested in bed liners...
So I have seen a number of videos on the "Hummer" mod where the wires inside on the shuttle valve assembly are cut and connected as to bypass the original circuitry. My question is.... What does this mod do to the 4wd, TC etc. systems assuming everything else is working correctly? Does it...
Here it is with the 1" lift and my 265/65R18 (31.5") LR4 wheels/tires swapped over. Looks good but a little tight on the front at full lock.
The plan will be to eventually get some 16s with something closer to 30.5" diameter tire.
Still on the fence between a LT245/75R16 or a LT265/70R16 ...
