Hope someone can assist. I have an 89 RRC 3.5 V8 auto. Tach stopped working after a numpty shorted the instrumentation multi function unit (Part # PRC7209).
Bought a new unit, installed it but no luck. Bought a new tach, still no luck. The vehicle is fitted with a Spitronics system.

Thanks for the reply. Question, where does the BROWN wire connect to on the alternator?? I hope this tach signal does not also have something to do with the ECU or whatever other electronic gubbins it is. Bought a new tacho but reluctant to install if I don't know if the connections at the...

Difficult to be specific as it's recently fitted. What I have noticed is: -
Easier starting.
Definite improvement in fuel economy, cannot measure accurately as yet but will do when I can get the pesky rev counter and instruments...

We have quite a few that in great shape left in South Africa. Recently some have been sold to rebuilders in the UK. Must say I enjoy mine. Will love it even more if I can solve the rev counter issue. Trying to keep it as original as possible.
