    D2 Cooling Issues

I'm well aware of that. The only thing left to replace at this point is the coolant sensor. I'm being told that I should take a temp reading of the manifold where the sensor is that there should only be +/-3-5 degrees difference between the manifold and my UltraGauge. After doing this I'm...

    D2 Cooling Issues

Spent last night swapping the water pump, and fan. The water pump did help some, but not what I was hoping for. At idle in the driveway the temps were 224.7 or 221.6 all the time with the AC on max. When you give it some gas those temps dropped right away to 215.4 to 217.6. Driving down the...

    D2 Cooling Issues

It idles around 210-217 with the 180 t-stat. I think maybe a combination of he incorrect fan, and maybe a worn water pump from the first clutch failure might be the root cause.

    D2 Cooling Issues

Another question. The shop that I had this at said at low RPM's the temps would go up, and once you raised the RPM's the temps would drop back down. Now this was idle, and not when driving. Could this be a water pump issue? The water pump was the only used part that went back on, but it only had...

    D2 Cooling Issues

The 03-04 were a 1 piece unit. So the fan blade, and clutch is fixed together as 1 piece. A lot of guys with 03-04 buy the 02 an old because they used a 2 piece unit. Some guys use the severe duty clutch pre 03 D2 clutch, Chevy Express Van clutch, or even an Astro Van clutch. All three of those...

    D2 Cooling Issues

I think we may have found the culprit after all. But I'll answer your questions first. The system was run through a machine a before the new t-stat was installed, and again afterwards. It was verified that the air was out of the system, and that there were no leaks. An inferred heat gun reading...

    D2 Cooling Issues

I was really hoping to get some insight on this issue, but nothing yet. Drove the Rover today for a short distance on the highway with the AC off, and temps were over 230 degrees. New Parts: *180 Grey stat *Hoses *Temp sensors *Nissens radiator *Water pump (5K on it when put on the new engine)...

    D2 Cooling Issues

There are a few places to get the soft spring 180. The one I picked up was from Lucky 8, and it's part number PEL500110GEN. This is the second soft spring t-stat installed in the last 500 miles so we can rule that out.

    That is also correct. I'm 100% certain it's a 180*. I was using a 180* before the engine swap, and I installed a 180* after the swap.

    D2 Cooling Issues

    Correct. It's a 180* OEM stat.

    D2 Cooling Issues

That makes perfect sense to me about the t-stat needing pressure. One thing that I forgot to mention was a little more about the engine. All both idler pulley's were replaced, a new serpentine belt was installed, and I'm fairly certain we don't have anything seizing up on us. I went through each...

    D2 Cooling Issues

    I installed a Nissens PCC000710G radiator.

    D2 Cooling Issues

The system is now bled down correctly, and I have zero air in the system. I just received an update on this, and it seems like my condenser fan is running backwards. I guess you can say that I had a blonde moment. Once that's fixed we'll know if it helped at all. With any luck that's the...

    D2 Cooling Issues

Yes this is my first post, and yes it's about heating issues so please be kind. Let's start from the top so you can see what I've done. My old worn out 4.6 from my 04 had a slipped sleeve, and I didn't repair it. I ended up buying a 4.6 from Turner with SAI heads installed, and a new front...
