Ended up with an FJ80. Locked front and rear with ARBs. But, it's a 92 with the 3FE. Only thing not to like about it is the MPGs. Either way, it complements my Series well.

As a Series III owner, I'm hurt... but I think you're probably right. In any case, to contribute to this thread: I'll echo a few things and say that it is absolutely worth waiting for the right truck with the right time frame. OP, you ought to be able to find a well-equipped, well-serviced LR3...

Purchased to throw in a truck I was planning to buy, but didn't, so I don't need it taking up space in my garage. Detroit rear out of a DII, installed on stock gears. PO says it has about 3k miles on it. Asking what I paid, $525 plus the ride. All ready to go. Happy to take pics if you want...

Didn't end up buying it. Bought a Land Cruiser instead :eek2: Decided I'm just not ready for life as a double Rover owner. For now, the Series will have to do!

I?ve only got the balls for one big Rover trip a year! And this year?s was taken by a 1500 mile trip in my Series. I think I?ll ship this one, but I?m glad to hear I?m not totally out of my mind for wanting to buy this truck.
