    water pump problems at 100000?

water pump failure is fairly common around 100k. if you don't trust the shop that yo take your truck to, why bother? anyhow, the symptoms you describe sound like pump failure. it's easy enough to do on your own. andu

How many people have actually been stranded due to DII electrical problems?

i've never been stranded due to D2 electronics, either. i agree that being prepared with both spares and tools make trailside repairs *relatively* painless. my friend running stock alloys on their D1s and rangies still have to take of their wheels to change axles. that's really the only "big"...

    trouble with trouble codes

i've looked up the codes mongo. they all have to do with MAF, O2s, heater circuits, emissions stuff, etc. i've replaced the MAF as it seemed the most obvious. is the next guess O2 sensors or could it be something unrelated? it seems that a lot on my rover is like that. must've been built on...

    trouble with trouble codes

the truck: '99 D2 with ~99k. it's been well behaved for the most part. earlier this year its transmission was replaced but other than that no major issues. the problem: very rich at idle with lots of hesitation/bogging/no power on steep climbs. it will barely pass 3k in any gear. this seems...

    ARB locker leaking fluid

when i talked with ARB they said sometimes the increased size of the carrier itself causes an over-pressure situation which then causes gear old to back up the airline. it happens to me in my rover. i've already cleaned out the breather; the next thing is to add an additional breather. andy

Cruise Control Problem, not vacuum line.

if you search in the TSB forum, chris posted a thread which outlined the fuses that control the cruise control. it isn't labeled as such, fyi. anyhoo, i kept having issues with my cruise control. there were no obvious problems but i noticed that i kept blowing the fuse. i just replaced it...

    Dweb take on Infant Vaccines

the studies that "support" the link between autism and the MMR vaccine are questionable at best. there are alarmists on both sides but a judicious approach towards the health of your children is the best bet. the risk of autism secondary to an immunization is low compared to the risk of not...

    Hdc

i use it all the time on fairly technical trails. the fact that your brakes aren't locking up helps to keep you on your line and it's nicer on the trail itself. no locking means no skidding. i've lost some efficiency when i changed tire size since my engine braking isn't as effective...

Aftermarket brake pads in a DII - whose done it?

EBCs without any problems. make sure that the calipers are nice and clean; plenty of anti-squeal goop on the backs of the pads. a

are there rovers in Seattle Area? Trails around there?

yeah, there's plenty of good trails. for good trails though you're pretty much guarenteed body damage. a lot of the technicality in the trails comes from finding the line on a off camber, heavily treed section while climbing wet roots. the water helps to save drivetrains, though. plenty of...
