    Disco 1 speedometer issues

They'd have to drop the rig out of a C17! Even then with the cinder block aerodynamics we might only get 120!

D1 Oil Pressure Light on idle and heavy leaking

As the differential temps are similar roughly 60 deg drop, sounds like the radiator (usually crap) might be Ok

D1 Oil Pressure Light on idle and heavy leaking

I would replace the T sat, sounds like its not letting the hot stuff out fast enough. Or remove it.

    Disco 1 speedometer issues

Update: After the VSS was changed, the speedo was still pegged at 140+. Oometer never stopped working (even when pegged) and coorectly. Got back on the freeway this morning and when I hit 70mph the speedo came down from 140 to 70. Must be the sensor getting enough juice to reset the speedo...

04' Disco Whining during Acceleration and Stearing

x2 Any leaky fluids? The steering boxes on early disco's are notorious for bleeding claret all over your pristine driveway (Wait...you own a Rover - driveway already screwed)

    Disco 1 speedometer issues

Anyone find the problem? Mines pegged, just replaced the VSS and disconnected power for a bit, no change. Odometer works fine.

'95 D1 3.9L. Engine dies, cools down, runs, dies....

Perhaps due to heat the inertia switch is triggering for some reason? I have been fighting a similar problem (replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, checked grounds, battery, alternator connections etc etc), turned out to be fuel pump! I have no idea if its supposed to be on or off...

    Disco 2 / Cranks but won't start

The fuel rail has a schrader valve on it. Its on the passenger side (USA) next to the intake manifold further forward on most (Not near the firewall). You can use a tire gauge on it. Carefully of course...

    "Oil Light" on rebuilt engine

You could remove the switch, but in a pipe nipple and a T - then put the switch on one leg and an actual pressure gauge pipe/fitting on the other leg. I have not done this on my disco, but did on another car to get a visual. A new oil pump should be standard on a rebuild. You can pick up a...

    Another Random Misfire

As I was working on the exhaust at the time nothing was hot. I have cleaned and rebolted all grounds in the engine compartment, now time to dig under the dash. Incidentally, a new VSS seems to have solved the stalling and misfire. None in two days, cross fingers. I think the ECU had to...

    Another Random Misfire

I replaced the VSS on Sunday. Also working on small exhaust leak near VSS, Then a strange thing happened: Truck at idle: When I slammed the drivers door it shut the engine off. Started car right away and then ran another 10 min, slammed the door again and it shut off again! After that I...

    Another Random Misfire

Also have a spare set of heads, gaskets, new beautiful silver powder coated valve covers and intake manifold/throttle body and other goodies ready to go on - this might be that opportunity. I just think it might be a little weird if ALL the valves stick at the same time and they stop...

    Starter trouble?

Here is the rundown. Chances are good its either the bearings or the brushes. Either one is a 2 dollar part. The trick is getting to them. Where are you in California? If you are in my neighborhood, PM me, stop by the house as I have a spare you can use and we'll pull out the old one...
