My 95 Dicsco with 155k has exhibited a problem for its second winter now. During cold mornings the converter will not lock up at 52mph until I slow down and hit 52mph a couple times. When its warm or after it locks once it will lock smoothly until it completely cools again. I tried to do a...

HELP! My window is stuck down!

Same thing happened to me while it was snowing. I took the panel off and raised the window up, then used a Leatherman Crunch (vise grip ones...very nice) and pinched the "X" in the regulator together. It usually breaks at the spot welds. I tried welding mine, it didnt work. I recommend just...

    Starter motor on a 95DI

I replaced mine about a year ago. Pretty straight forward. Kind of sucks getting to top bolt. Be careful with the heat shield, mine didn't survive the transition. I got mine direct from Land Rover and I dont recall it being outrageous.

    Electrical Problem. Help

I dont know about your other problems but your tail light/instrument panel problem is connected because they are on the same circuit. Possible bad ground connection. Sorry I dont have the manual for it, but I would start by checking the rear lights for burned or loose grounds. Also, check...

Mud in engine compartment / pressurewashing

My advice: go to an auto parts store and buy a can of Foamy Engine Brite. Use the whole can, maybe two, wherever you see fit, then rinse off with normal garden hose pressure. Most of the time pressure washing will not cause problems as long as you dont "direct inject" anything, but when it...

    Dead Disco

Lets make it easy: Please answer these questions: When it dies, do any lights come on? Is it only while driving, or is it while stopped (idling)? Hot or cold? Does it restart, if so, how long does it take? When you try to restart it, is the engine cranking at normal speed? You have had a tune...

    Screaming D1

Alt voltage is normal. Check your serpentine belt routing. My guess is it goes from alt to pwr strg w/out going under fan clutch. If it is your tensioner bearing, the tensioner is expensive but you can pull the bearing out and get it from NAPA

    Sloppy Service

Sorry Ryan, I know this thread is old, but I got lost for awhile. I didn't know you were having problems with Centerville. I get parts from them and they've always been real nice, most know me by name (unfortunately). Of course that is different from the service department, but I haven't...

    95 D1 O2 Sensor Replacement ?s

I had a code 45 pop up after pressure washing my engine the other day. Vehicle ran poorly at best. I just kept drying and rechecking components until it seemed better. Been runnin fine for a week now with no code return. Not saying that your O2 sensor isn't bad, but keep in mind, on pre-96...

    95 Cranks but won't fire

If you have fuel to the rail, but no spark and the injectors aren't pulsing (verify other than dry plugs) then sounds like a problem with the overall timing. The vehicle doesn't know you are trying to start it. Check your ignition fuses and inside the distributor for damage.

    Sloppy Service

Just to let everyone know. You dont have to put up with that kind of service from the dealership, even if you have an extended service contract. The dealership cannot deny warranty claims based on where you had your work done. You are allowed to take your vehicle anywhere you want to. They...
