that's just it - no codes, no "m" "s" lights, no "check engine" light... nothing. and the symptoms are hit and miss... not consistent.

tranmission questions... the trans has been acting sorta screwy the past few weeks in my "new to me" 04 ... seems to be common prob on the 03/04 D2 from what i can gather ("stack-shifting" from what i have read) i've got vibrations/shudders between gears (has done it @ 1-2 and 2-3 shifts)...

YEAH NO JOKE! i orginally went in for the silver 04 on the webpage for $11,800 - it was secured to a dealer the day i went in. then the one i got was traded the night before... just ment to be! pick up the "new" disco in the AM - it had to go through the certified inspection, detail, etc...

the one with 27K sold on monday for $15500, it was in ft. lauderdale anyway... LONG drive for me (14 hrs), and it would have been $1200+ to ship it. pushing it around $17000 - can get an LR3 for a few thousand more... not COMPLETELY setteld on the 04 that i have found. seems to be a flawless...

your cable is stretched. pretty common problem. just get a new one and replace it.... sorta a PITA though. good luck.

so what exactly was the diagnosis?? did they find the actual "problem" that was causing the knock, or are they just throwing parts at it until it stops knocking???

yep - we have our answer. installed the new window motor on passenger door last night, works perfectly. i am still completely confused as to how both motors would go at the same time -- idunno... i guess that's just another "rover mystery" - i am ordering the driver side motor today. good...

the bumper is a straight bolt on. the only problem you will have is in the wheel wells, they will have to be trimmed up to fit behind the new bumper. good luck.
