i forgot to mention, when the pump fails, the abs light comes on first for a bit. then shortly after the brake light comes on. the fault stored is "stuck pressure switch" then the brakes gradually lose effectiveness.
New factory sealed pump assys. (pump. accumulator, pressure switch)
It never loses brake pressure (until the pump burns up) it sounds like its actually over-pressuring. You can hear the pump working too hard and then it eventually makes a high pitch "blow-off" like sound and continues...
My old 1999 P38, which I sold keeps burning up ABS pumps. I believe this is the 5th pump its burned up in the past year. Something is causing it to stick on. The ABS pumps have all been BRAND NEW pump/accumulator/switch assemblys. We have replaced the relays a couple times, put in a new fuse box...
1. I completely agree with having a no alcohol policy on the trails, any other way is just reckless in my opinion.
2. I also agree that posts from club members on their own "roverboard" should NOT be censored, that is THE place where it should be discussed. If people are worried about that...
i agree with everyone so far keep the p38. as long as you keep caring for it, it will care for you. i had a d1 and sold it. bought my p38 and never looked back. the d1 is an awesome off roader. the p38 in my opinion is a better off roader in most cases (stock vs stock) especially with 4...

Relevant towing...

I know its been said before, but I just wanted to say that WILL.TILLERY is the king of parts....anything you guys need you need to without a doubt contact him first. Every time I deal with him he "wows" me with what he does.
THANKS WILL!!!
Open the hood and there are 2 rectangular black plastic covers about 6"x1", one one the passenger side and one on the driver side...all the way up close to the windshield area, not in the engine bay. Just take the two screws out of each and you can pull the pollen filter out of each one, if...
I had the exact same problem haunting me on my '99 as well. Check to see if your pollen filters are wet. I sealed up the pollen filters....still water was getting in and soaking the pollen filters. It turns out that screw right above the pollen filters cover cap was leaking the water in. I...
I assumed it was replaced, because they ordered the ABS pump assembly brand new with the accumilator as a "kit" I asked them to completely refresh all the brake fluid for all new fluids and they confirmed it was replaced.
