If you supply the unit a constant 12 volts all the time then you can watch DVD movies while you are driving! Wouldn't that be fun?
I wouldn't worry about following the directions to the letter. The best thing to do would be to attach the lead for the "parking brake signal" wire to the the...
Hey guys:
I went away on vacation and my car battery ran down. This means that my keyless entry doesn't work. Moreover, the driver-side door keyed entry doesn't work either because the pin inside the door broke a while back and I was too lazy to get around to fixing it.
So....
I need to...
I have a hard fault in the ABS system that I have not cleared and the yellow light is illuminated on my dash. When I start the car, the three amigos are not activated (yet). However, if I turn the steering wheel hard to the left (for example, if I'm leaving a parking space at the mall) the TC...
I fixed it. It was some sort of weird electrical gremlin. Took the airbag off again. I then unplugged and cleaned off the terminals for the horn buttons. Problem solved it seems.
Hey guys:
I had to take off the steering wheel and airbag in order to replace a broken plastic trim piece. Everything was put back together correctly but about 15 seconds after I turned the key to verify that the SRS light turned off on the dash, the horn started to blow. Starting the car did...
My system is 1.2 Kwatts RMS and you are correct in that I had to beef up the electrical system before I did my stereo install. I'm running 0 gauge wire directly from the battery to my two 600 watt alpine PDX amps stacked under my passenger seat. I also put in a red-top Optima battery and did a...
Braves6117:
I looked at your pics. Do you have an Image Dynamics sub in the back of your truck? If so, what model and how many watts do you have going to it?
I used CDT speakers (red HD series) in all 4 doors and mounted the front components in the A-pillars. The crossover module is mounted in the side lower pockets in the front doors. CDT is a high-end brand. They don't have great bass but if you run a lot of high-end clean power to them they are...
Check the fuse box in the engine compartment. There is a row of small boxes arranged in-line. These are also fuses and you can visually check them to make sure that they are still working. If one is burned-out you will see a break in the wire.
I had a problem with my wipers and a lot of my...
Give me a few days and I can post pictures of my setup. It's a pretty bad-ass install job that a professional stereo installer and I put together over the course of a few days. You might get some good ideas from it. The goal was to keep it looking as stock as possible and NOT take away any...
Yea...I did the same thing as braves6117. I tore out my driver-side cubby and put an enclosure on that side. It only works on the driver-side, though. I'll save you the effort of taking out the passenger-side cubby, because it won't work. The gas intake is located on that side and you can't...
Look at the following brands if you are picking out headunits:
Pioneer, Alpine and Eclipse. They are considered the best by most people and they are high quality. They tend to be more expensive but you get what you pay for.
I know that Pioneer has some headunits with Bluetooth integrated...
In order to read the ABS codes you need an LR scanner or testbook. Your normal OBD scanner won't be able to read them.
If the 97 disco is the one giving you problems then you can do the paper-clip trick, as mentioned above, to read the ABS codes and figure out which sensor is faulty.
I had the 4 amigos a while back. If the parking brake light is on but the parking brake is not actuated, it could be a bad speed sensor in the ABS system.
But before you start spending money chasing the ABS gremlins, do a thorough check of your brake system. Check brake fluid levels, brake...
Hey guys:
I'm pretty sure that I have a purge valve that sticks on occasion and generates a "Mass EVAP leak" code with the Check Engine Light. I can go several months without a problem but it invariably comes back at some point.
I read a posting on here saying that a Hyundai Purge valve...
Does anybody know if the part number given for the Hyundai purge valve will work on an 03-03 D2? The posting above only specifically mentions the earlier versions of the D2. It would be nice to save 150 bucks if I can install the Hyundai part.
Also, check your brake pads and rotors for wear. If your brakes need maintenance then sometimes this will trip the sensors and cause the lights to appear.
