A couple of years back I did Bilstein front/rear/steering damper on my 2002 Disco. Very easy to do and made the ride responsive without being way too harsh. I like :-)
UPDATE: Looks like the linkage cable broke right at the transfer case. Is there a way to manually shift it into high range for the time being so I can drive it to be repaired?
Hey Guys,
Shifted into low range for snow - everything went fine. Went to shift out, low/high selector pulled back and now is just loose. Does not shift into high range at all. Feels like linkage is not connected somewhere. I looked under the truck and the linkage appears to be connected...
Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately, as many have alluded to, high end car audio head units do not appear to include WB anymore.
I may just upgrade and use my iPhone for the weather...

Hey there,
I have a 2002 D2 with the higher end stereo, but not the HK. Has anyone replaced the factory head unit with something like a top of the line Alpine unit and kept the weather band feature for the new unit? I really like having it around, but I'm afraid if I drop the new unit in, I...
Hey guys,
Quick, and possibly stupid, question. Is there a difference in the front bumper mounts between the 1999-2002 generation Discovery and 2003-2004 generation?
I know aftermarket companies such as ARB make a distinction between the years, but I was wondering if their "2003-2004" bumper...
Literally took me about 20 minutes the first time I did it. Make sure you can get proper leverage on the pivoting wrench and it will be super easy. Also, the first time I did it I drew a little diagram of how I was to run the belt - basically plan in advance and take your time. This way, you...
I replaced my OEM front driveshaft with a GBR and LOVE it. No problems and feels better - not to mention I feel safe from the u-joints seizing and having a field day with the undercarriage.
I've put about 10k on the GBR and have had ZERO problems.
Has anyone installed Microcat on Linux (Ubuntu)? I am trying to install it using Wine and it isn't working for me - the installation stops at 30% and gives me an error message "An error occurred during the move data process: -119".
Many thanks!
Also, you'll probably notice a worse ride quality, worse tracking, possibly slight decrease in gas mileage (when I put nice new Michelins on my truck I noticed .5 to 1 mpg better from the Goodyear Wranglers). Also, big lug tires will get eaten up fast when driven on all the time.

I was looking at this one: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=IVA-D106
Seemed to have lots of cool features. I'm worried about tucking the wires back there and losing weather band (I love it).
Will keep you posted.
Cool thanks. From what I've read since it is a 1 din and you have to buy an adapter to fill in the gap. I was looking to do an upper end Alpine. I am still wondering about the wiring harnesses lining up properly - also I don't want to lose my beloved Weather Band. I think this weekend I will...
