The battery is tagged 11/10 so I suppose it could have been siting long enough to allow voltage to drop a little. All the extra cranking couldn't have helped it either. I still start with a new crank position...

Inertia switch is fine and I think the alarm led only flashes rapidly whenever I double click the lock button.

just because the pump turns on doesn't mean it's good. The pump isn't putting out enough pressure. The fact that it even starts means it's turning on, no test needed for that. You would instead need to check for the fuel pressure.
The traction control is what makes it better than a regular ol' unlocked from and rear 4wd system. If a wheel starts to slip, the traction control applies some brake to that wheel to make the one with more traction turn instead of the one that is spinning faster than the others. It works ok...

Might I add that upon heavy acceleration especially at higher RPM's, I can feel a subtle in and out loss of power.

Well, after many starts, I believe the key on for 10 seconds, off for 10 then on for 10 more and then start thing makes it to where it is starting right up. I guess it is indeed a pump problem.
