you look at the pro's and try to find hannibal racks fitted to their vehicles. some sponsored expedition groups will have hannibal racks cuz they were given to them for "free."
look at all the special vehicles, camel trophy, trek, g4... if the hannibal...

congrats on the 04. pedal jerk is normal at startup. i personally don;t have my foot on the brake pedal when starting just don't like the feeling of it so i just don't. no cluncks or squeaks on mine so far but one thing every morning starting... it starts and revs very high and engine sounds...

didn't want to punch holes on the body for the coax so i just guided around the weather strip and thru the bottom corner.
although i had to drill a few holes for mounting the bracket but it's not visible from outisde.
