Has anyone ever replicated the external cage, rack and ladder that came stock on the 93 NAS Defenders?

OR...

Is the cage available from Land Rover?

I will check out the safety devices page. Eastcoast Rovers quoted me $8500.00 to build one. That seems a bit high to me since I have seen entire tube frames for whole crawlers built for much less.

$3k on the last order from ECR for new NAS style 110 cage from SD. Price will go up with the next order due to exchange rate issues.

IF you need one now, I have one on the boat in this order which I would be willing to sell on to you for whatever the cost of the next order is (I bought it now but don't yet need it).

How big of a project is it to bolt one of these on? I am guessing drilling the body panels in the correct spots is the big trick?

Is this going on a N.A.S 110, or a R.O.W. 110?

I am looking at a RHD 1983 that came from England so I am guessing ROW.

I'll have to check, but I don't think the S.D. cage will fit a Euro spec truck. The 83 roof is slightly different from the N.A.S. truck.

110 came out in 1983, and many have already been imported.

I checked today at the shop. We have a '83 ROW 110, and the roof is different. It has rather tall ribs going down the top. We also have several N.A.S. 110's parked right next to it, so I checked the clearance on a N.A.S cage, and it will NOT fit the ROW truck. Hope this helps.

Carey,

You work at ECR correct? Can I get you to check something for me?

I just purchased an external cage for my 1984 90" and asked Mike if it would work with the original ribbed roof and he said it would. Can you double check? I understand that the 90 and 110 are diffrent so the info you posted above about the 110 might not apply but I just want to make sure it will fit my 90 with ribbed roof.

Thanks :D

Mike,

Details on my 90

1984 RHD 90?
Still has bulkhead intact
Ribbed roof

Anything else you need to know to make sure one will fit?

ECR said:
The only differences/ requirements are if the 90 Wagon has a bulkhead behind the seats or if it doesn't.

It only changes one bracket, the rest of the cage parts are identical to each other.

RBL1087SSN is for the 90 with the bulkhead behind the seats

RBL2137SSS is for the 90 without the bulkhead behind the seats

There are no other issues. :) :)
