Well, the time has come.

After giving it some thought, I have decided to part ways with my Series IIa, Leaky.

As much as I love it, and as much fun as it is to drive, I need to sell it for space and financial reasons.

Here are the basics:

Garage Kept 1970 Land Rover Series IIA
Left Hand Drive
Engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago. Very Low mileage since.
I have added the following to it:
New Lap Seat Belts
New Zenith Carb
New Flamethrower Coil
New Distributor
New plugs
New Brake Servo
Dropped and resealed the Oil Pan
New Brakes have been added recently
New Parabolic Springs added recently

Runs great!
Also includes Haynes and Land Rover Shop Manuals, a bucket full of spare parts and fluids

This thing is a tank. Fun to drive, and gets lots of looks out on the trails and in town.

Asking $6500

Located in Phoenix, AZ

Any interest, contact me off list at roversale@c-s-group.com

See pictures at http://www.c-s-group.com/galleries/leaky/series.html

Thanks

It's done like that to tempt you, Paul :)

If you've been good this year, you can get it for yourself for Xmas.

I wont get it for you for Xmas, but I will sell it to you for Xmas. You're in Monterey, not that far away to trailer it. :)

Something must be wrong....no leaks???? :)

Well, yes, it does have some leaks. Its a '70 Rover. The main leak is from the Tcase, and it is moderate. Its a nuisance that I fully intended to take care of at some point, just never got around to, mostly due to money issues. If I am taking it out on a long 4wd trip, I will usually take 10 minutes fill it up every 3rd or 4th time, depending on the time in between 4wd trips. Its more than I would like to, but I dont mind the precaution.

The steering box, differentials, and swivels get filled every so often as well, but theyre not that bad. As far as leaks, that is where it stands....thus the License Plate name...."Leaky"

Another question I have been asked a lot is regarding the frame and bulkhead.

The bulkhead is in good shape. The same is true for the frame, only minor surface rust, with the exception of the rear crossmember. It has a rust spot near the rear step that will eventually need some attention, however, I dont think it needs to be replaced very soon unless you intend to pull anything with it.

When I looked at my original post, I realized that this information was not immediately stated, so I am stating it here in earnest. Keep in mind, this truck has been sitting in the garage, rarely driven and started and driven around the block only once a month or so to keep the fluids in check for quite a while.

More pictures for the undercarriage and frame can be viewed at:

I have nothing to hide with this, so ask the question, and I will answer it the best I can. I dont always monitor Dweb due to job/time constraints, but if you ask it, I will answer it honestly. Don't mean to namedrop, (but I'm gonna :)) but I think even Bluegill has a good idea of what kind of person I am, in the honesty/integrity department.

Either way, best case scenario is to contact me at the address above. (roversale@c-s-group.com) and I will reply both to you and to the forum if needed.

Thanks

Jess
