The Good: 183,000 I am the second owner, first owner was my uncle. Truck got a new LR engine at 90,000 miles. fluids changed religiously. This truck runs out excellent! Its never let me down on road or off. Body is straight, paint is faded in areas (roof, to be certain). Good tires, Old Man Emu MD Springs, Bilstein shocks. My wife and I trade rides (we also have a '99 4.6) both as daily drivers; whoever gets the kid, gets the 4.6. Strangely we both really like driving the classic more in some repsects; good NJ inspection through next March. Has euro code front and rear repeater lens', as well as H4 headlights.
The Bad: Passenger side front window inoperable (motor works, but track is rusted and not trustworthy), so I've disconnected the switch. Sunroof also inop, and has a bead of silicone around the outside of the roof due to leaking (sunroof cloth is off of headliner in interior, otherwise headliner is fine). Radio is inop, (its an aftermarket Blaupunkt, with power amp under back seat, sounded great.. but I think will nead a new head unit because still gets power to head) ABS light is on, will need brakes soon. Upper tailgate is on its way out, but still funcitional. Missing rear left bumper guard.
This is an ideal trail truck, or a great starter truck for someone looking to break into the LR scene. It's just gotten too silly for us to have two RR's with the way things are going with gas prices, and my favorite "'Ol Green" is the unfortunate outcast.
