Today I found this on FB and could not resist it..more British love, I have a 77 xjs v12 but I love the styling of the sedan.

This one has a very nice engine haha.
Main reason I bought it.

Oh well back to the disco.

Have been working a bit on the damage. Got great help and motivation from my brother who was visiting from the Netherlands. Replaced the steering bar and tracking bar. Setup 3 hydraulic jacks for pushing the front torsion arm 1-1/2" forward. One from the rear torsion arm mount, one against the rear body mount and one lifting again at the kicked out gusset plate from the front mount. We have it now back with 1/2 to 3/4 " to go but I need to take the nut of the torsion bar and maybe remove it for good results. Still looking for a same color fender.

Yeah, the learning curve for suddenly real tight.

Here some pics from my second try to push the front back with a hydraulic jack and porta.. also some rust treatment while the fender is of.
I am pushing against the rear axle mount. That deformed slightly. The bushing that holds the urethane donut is still crooked. Next try will be heating it witch a torch and see if straightens out.

Thank you, and some progress. Decided to get the ol HF acytelene torch out.. never used it for 7 years and yes the hoses were dyrotted. So first back to Harbor F and new hoses.
Still had the wrong tip. Pulled the axle forward as much as I could so that the polyurethane bushing was not in harms way. It got a beating anyhow but now the mount is almost back in place, another 3mm to go and. It is also nice in line with the radius arm..
Will try one more time with a better tip and see if I can get the whole thing to move the last 3 mm.

So a little more heat and hydraulics later and it is back in place. Repai ted with a to rust paint and on to the next..
The left front hard brake line on the caliper was damaged and I replaced that with a generic 12" piece.. a bit short so had to do a different routing. Did not check if it is the way when steering locks out on the left.
Next week some new dot 3 oil and then pull the bumper and a bit of inner fender with a chain on some solid.

I hope my search for a green fender will be successful.

So out of order for a while after a ladder slid away under me. Two broken ribs and two rotator cuff torn.
Now 6 weeks after surgery so I am wandering around.
Today I checked out my disco and noticed these front springs. The first four turns are collapsed?? Not broken , both sides are the same.

Can the combined knowledge of the forum tell me what is the most likely spring I have here?

What color green do you need for the fender? So sorry about your injury. I recently tore my rotator cuff and am trying to hold off on surgery until I get some projects done. On the springs, I have only seen that when someone intentionally wants to lower them. They heat them up until they collapse to the desired height. Also, I have a set of new 2 inch lift springs for sale but they are pending sale to another forum member. However, I have another set of springs on a parts rig that will be available soon. They are used, of course, but give a 2 inch lift and are still in great condition.

I believe these are progressive-rate springs that are past their prime.

Thanks folks, yeah tired springs, it has a substantial bull bar and skid plate on the front. Car's stance is still ok for me,definitely not lowered.

Yesterday ,after 4 months , I tried to start and what do you know it did on first try.

Terry, thank you, I sourced a new fender with the correct color.. haha but can't put it on. Besides driving a stick is kind of difficult right now.

My superspinatus was a full tear and infra spinatus a half tear. So no movement at all. It is a very long frustrating recovery. If I had some usable movement I would not have done surgery..

I have been told the recovery is very slow. Lol, the doctor seemed to be discouraging me from having the surgery. May your recovery be as quick and thorough as possibl.
