This should be a quick question and answer...

In tuning the carburetor of this 65 Series Truck (Robert Alley's), I've looked for resources online for some guidance. They have been clear about few things, so this is what I know, and what I can't figure out:

  • I've located the idle mixture adjustment (easy)
  • I've located the idle speed adjustment (obvious)
  • I've located a relatively big brass, slotted screw on the side about half way up the carb that is referred to as the "Idle Jet Screw"
The question is: What the hell do I do with the "Idle Jet Screw?" when turning it one way or another it acts like an adjustment, but I've got a hunch that you just need to just bring it out about 1 turn and not mess with it... eh? I'm new to tuning a carb of this type, but if that's true about that "Idle Jet Screw" I think I can get it going my way. (I hope)

An answer or any pointers would be appreciated. Currently, our progress has been slowed by a dead battery, but hopefully I can get this thing running great soon.
