Yes, more forward. Ideally on the upper A pillar.

Didn't the UK discos have a grab bar for a glovebox? Maybe an idea.. But if you need that many handles I suggest a roll cage lol.. jk jk..

Lol. True, but I was thinking to replace the flexible, over window unit, with a rigid handle on the A pillar. Not both. If things go very wrong I know I can rely on the 27 year old airbag. I know I can just make what I want but if there were a couple less projects requiring fabrication I might actually get something done. Jealous of the Jeep crowd I guess.

That was on the cheaper packaged D1s that didn’t have a glove box.
