I've got an 02 that has ACE and i'm looking to remove it and put sway bars on it. It doesn't seem to work and everything is rusty. Is it as simple as draining the fluid pulling the pump and removing everything?

Yup that sounds about right.. I think on the D2 ACE removal you need to do the 3 amigos fix or something along those lines.. There is something else that needs modded to keep the amigos away I'm pretty sure.. I know others will have more info on this than me!

I’ve heard of having the ecu corrected to turn off the 2 lights on the dash .

I pulled the Ace pump off and just bought the non ace serp belt. 3 amigos won't turn on without Ace you will get a warning light on the dash.

I never swapped the bars or added normal bars but I would have down the road but I sold it for scrap anyway as it had 270k on it.

To get the light off you can find a BCU that doesn't have ACE or find a rover shop who can reprogram a BCU but good luck on that.

With Nanocom you may disable ACE version, then BCU/instrument pannel assumes, non ACE version, no alarms.
Amigos are warning lights from SLS/ABS module, and they are not involved with ACE.
ACE is a good feature for a standard Disco. I recommend to think if is not less work to let sysrtem working.

Im putting new springs and shocks, the rear has had springs put in air bags are gone. Connectors broke. It’s honestly not worth fixing it.

Very satisfying. Mine leaked at every hose. Had a few rebuilt then another fitting would start a leak.

I've moved onto a 06 rr sport and so glad rover decided for one year not have ace on it. I've heard those with ace to replace a leaking sway bar you must lift the body off the frame.

I was covered in fluid once I was done. The sway bars came right off, cut the end links and 2 bolts came right off. actually it wasn't that hard to pull.
