I pulled the flares off the DII and I can't get the goo off. I tried to heat it up and I've tried a bunch of different solvents but no luck.

A friend of mine told me about a drill bit that looks like a hockey puck and won't harm the paint.

I've been searching for this but can't figure out what it is or where to order one.

Any suggestions?

I used Goof Off to get the residue from vinyl decals off our company car. Worked great. Also worked great for the left over glue from my body side moldings that were rubbed off on a recent off-road trip.

This stuff works, but it can take considerable elbow grease. I used it to remove the adhesive after yanking the fender flares. It was slow going, but with patience it all came off ...

I bought one of the eraser deals from Napa today, it worked like a champ for removing the door molding adhesive. It was meant to be used in a air gun but it worked fine in a regular power drill, plus it was only $10. money well spent.

This may not work for your application, but automotive 'decal remover' spray is one of the most amazing products I've ever used. I pulled baked-in, chipping decorative original decal stripes off a black CJ7 that was then 10 years old, using decal remover. They just slid off and the paint looked perfect.
