Well I got my adventure roof rack this past summer, and with winter comming I was hoping I can get some ideas what is the best way to carry snow boards and skis. I have a regular Yakima snow board rack that I used to use. Should I try to mount that on the adventure rack, of is there a better way to handle it?

Not sure bungee cords is a good idea: if you have to break hard your board will turn into a missle... Yakima sells universal clamps (mighty mounts) that you should be able to attach to your rack. They are round and I'm sure with some rubber pads/inserts you'll get it around the rack no problem.

Seems like I recall someone attaching ski mounts to side of this adventure rack, not on the top. Very cool set up, but I'm too lazy to search the archieves. Maybe you could do the same with your SB.

Snowboard Mounts

If you have the room, I would suggest you place them inside the Disco in snowboard bags. I work for REI and I have a DI with the rack on and the OD of the adventure rack is bigger than the Yakima mounts. The mighty mounts are for round or sq. Thule crossbars which are still smaller larger smaller than the Yakima. If you insist on putting them on top in the rack, as the previous person mentioned, put them in their bags and strap them with webbing type straps like the Yakima H.D. straps. They are the best and easiet to use. Plus they have a rubberized "ancra" buckle which protects your car from getting scratched.
hope that helps.
