Ball joints??? Do you mean tie rod ends???

The Disco I does not use ball joints, the swivel ball pivots on a Railco bush and "pin"... but steering rods have replaceable "tie rod ends" that can be acquired with grease fittings.

Ball-Joints?

Guess I am stuck in the old days of working on my old beater Beetle so that ole term stuck with me. :) Took me a while to find my new ends cause I was looking for ball-joints in the online catalog. doh! Just make sure when you order them that you get the correct handed thread for each side...I think the tie-rod actually uses two right-hand threads...please someone correct me if I am wrong (relating to the 97 DI to be exact). I can't remember which is a shame cause I just did mine 3 months ago!

LOL, true about their website! It didn't used to be that way, it was a little more classy and didn't scream the word "cheap" at you. They got a new website guru a few months ago I think and all the Dirt Cheap deals with Hank the dog as a mascot came into effect then. Kinda embarassing cause it makes me look like I love cheap parts...I'm not cheap, I'm frugal. lol

They actually have a good selection and Gallagher is the man to talk to. Helped me out of many a bind. Damn I sound like a Motorcars pimp! :p I'll get off my box now. hehe

I mentioned in another thread I've been buying greasable one's from DAP since about '81, only a problem with one out of dozens I've bought, which Al immediately replaced.
