Bigger Tires?? Nitto Tires?

It's time for new tires, and I wanted something bigger for my stock D2, w/ 18'' wheels.

Costo said, only the Michelin, that are custom made for this car are a good choice, and I cant get any bigger thatn 225-55-18.

Another place told me that it's true that I cant get bigger tires, but they're NITTO Tires are nobbier, (sp?) and better for off roading.

They look better, but I'm not sure if they can handle the weight or their quality and safety on the freeway.

Any thoughts woudl be apprecieated.

Are you off-roading or will you be staying on the hwy?. I have not heard anything bad about nitto street tires but don't know much about their off-road stuff. check the ply rating and tread depth.
